The reason why the magazine task would be a good fit for me is because I have always had a passion for writing. I've never really had any practice in writing journalism style, but I am definitely intrigued with learning how to do it. The magazine task also offers the option of displaying my photography, which is a passion of mine. Learning how to write a story to put with a photograph would be a great talent to put into practice that I could possibly use in a career later in life. Having some practice in journalism could also help me decided if I want to minor in journalism or communication in college.
On the other hand, I want to major in cinematography at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Having film-making practice before I attend my cinematography classes would be a great way to be one step ahead by helping me learn the basics in my major ahead of time. I have the option to use Adobe as an editing system for video editing currently at Sarasota High School. I already know that PBA uses Adobe as their editing system. It would be extremely beneficial for me to learn how to use the Adobe system now rather than in college while I'm also learning a lot of new information on cinematography.
